Zsuzsa Bagoly

Prof. dr. Zsuzsa Bagoly received a medical degree from the University of Debrecen, Faculty of Medicine, Hungary in 2004. She obtained her PhD in clinical hemostasis in 2008. She became a specialist in laboratory medicine in 2011 (EuSpLM). She is an associate professor at the University of Debrecen, Department of Laboratory Medicine. Her research areas include basic and clinical research in thrombosis and hemostasis (blood coagulation factor XIII, fibrinolysis, platelet function studies, clinical studies in cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases, and rare hemorrhagic disorders). She is currently the chair of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) SSC Subcommittee on Factor XIII and Fibrinogen, a board member of the Hungarian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, a council member of the International Fibrinogen Research Society and board member of the European Congress on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. She has been an invited speaker at several international meetings, including state-of-the-art presentations at ISTH and the International Society on Fibrinolysis and Proteolysis (ISFP) meetings. In recent years, she received several prestigious scientific awards, including the L’Oreal UNESCO Prize for Women in Science in 2020. |
