Panagiotis Mallis

Panagiotis Mallis, MSc, PhD, is serving as an Associate Scientist of the Hellenic Cord Blood Bank of the Biomedical Research Foundation Academy of Athens, Greece. His master diploma and PhD were focused in the field of the Small-Diameter Vascular Graft Engineering. Since 2012, he has been a member of the Hellenic Cord Blood Bank. Panagiotis Mallis is a well-trained person regarding the isolation, characterization, and cryopreservation of cord blood Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) and Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs) obtained from the human umbilical cord, bone marrow and adipose tissue. His research interests involve the development of vascular grafts using state-of-the-art tissue engineering methods, investigating the immunobiology of stem cells, including HSCs and MSCs. In recent years, he has focused on the publication of scientific articles, participated in conferences, and presented invited talks. To date, he has published more than 25 articles (original research, review articles, editorials, etc.). He has participated as first author in more than 15 articles that are available in PubMed (MEDLINE). Additionally, he has carried out several peer-reviews for a great number of international journals. Currently, he is serving as Guest Editor and member of the Topical Advisory Panel of the Bioengineering (Basel). |
