Dear Ladies and Sirs, dear colleagues,
Thank you for registering with the EUROMEDLAB Munich 2021. As you are aware, the congress was scheduled to be held as an in-presence meeting between 28th of November and 2nd of December. While we were in the final stages of preparation, Germany has been hit very hard by a 4th wave of Covid-19 particularly in the area of the venue in Munich.
Travel warnings for Germany have been issued by some countries even for vaccinated individuals, making it potentially problematic to return home after the congress. The local government has announced to issue lockdowns for the coming days in all areas, where the 7-day incidences exceed 1,000 in 100,000. While we are monitoring this situation, Munich as the EUROMEDLAB venue is approaching this threshold.
As congress organizers, your safety is of utmost importance to us at IFCC and EFLM. While we were very enthusiastic about EUROMEDLAB 2021 and have received many positive communications that welcomed the prospect of meeting in person at such an important scientific event, an orderly meeting cannot be warranted under these conditions.
Therefore, IFCC and EFLM, together with the Congress Organizing Committee have decided to postpone this EUROMEDLAB. We are currently looking into rescheduling in 2022 and will communicate a new date for this important conference in the near future. We regret to be forced to take this step, but consider it important to warrant the safety and well-being of all attendees, exhibitors and staff.
