Angelika Hammerer-Lercher started her career at the Medical University Innsbruck in Austria, completed her Austrian board certification in laboratory medicine in 2004 and four years later her habilitation. Now she also holds the Swiss board certification for the laboratory specialization FAMH in hematology and the Swiss equivalent for the laboratory specialties in clinical chemistry and immunology. Her main scientific interest has always been in cardiac biomarkers and prospective new markers, particularly focusing on physiologic, diagnostic, and prognostic aspects in heart failure or acute coronary syndrome. Since last year, she has been a corresponding member of the Committee on Clinical Applications of Cardiac Bio-Markers of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry. |
