Greetings to all our readers. After a cherished summer, this October issue of the EuroLabNews gives us a snapshot of all the professional happenings in our field in the past two months. Tara Rolic, member of our dedicated team here at the EFLM Promotion and Publications WG, summarizes the guidelines of the EFLM TF Green Labs, chaired by Tomris Ozben, which lay out the floor plan for achieving a climate-neutral environment. Tara Rolic, in yet another of here capacities, announces the European Lab Day to be held on the 5th of November. Tara Rolic also announces the Survey of the EFLM TF Chronic Kidney Disease, chaired by Etienne Cavalier. All laboratories are encouraged to submit their respective input by participating in the survey. Tara Rolic also calls our attention to the EFLM Speakers Bureau, where one can find experts, available to deliver lectures and seminars in various fields, at a glance. Kindly also note the deadline of the 15th of January, 2023 in order to submit your applications for the various EFLM awards to be presented at the EuroMedLab 2023 meeting in Rome. Silvia Cattaneo from the EFLM Office announces the honorary membership of our President Tomris Ozben at the Slovakian Society of Clinical Biochemistry. In her regular column, Tomris Ozben has had “Coffee” with Merel van Wijnen, President of the Dutch Society of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, Karel Tomberg, EFLM National Representative of the Estonian Society for Laboratory Medicine, Etienne Cavalier, President of the Royal Belgian Society of Clinical Chemistry, Jennifer Brady, President of the Clinical Biochemists in Ireland and Attila János Miseta, the President of the Hungarian Society. Past and upcoming webinars have been summarized to keep you abreast with the latest developments in the given fields of Laboratory Medicine. Silvia Terragni from the EFLM Office has advertised a vacancy at the EFLM WG Harmonization, where the application deadline is the 15th of October. Ales Kvasnicka, member of the EFLM C-C, has presented a unique infographic on Measurement uncertaintly for practical use. In news from the EFLM National Societies, the Spanish Society are reporting their latest venture. Under its regular column, the IFCC corner presents global perspectives in Laboratory Medicine.
