The basic problems in implementing document management systems in the laboratory are presented together with the general principles and approaches in managing documents according to requirements of DSTU EN ISO 15189:2015 “Medical laboratories. Requirements for quality and competence”. Besides, information concerning the quality management system documentation – documents and records, their differences, types, classifications, and basic aspects of document management in accordance with the requirements for quality and competence is given.
