Aims and Scope – The Journal of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (eJIFCC) is an on line journal, published four times a year, on the website of the IFCC. The peer-reviewed original articles, posters, case studies and reviews, are focused on the need of clinical laboratories worldwide. In addition to the peer-reviewed content, there are also occasional editorials with pointers to quality resources on the Web. Also the journal publishes some IFCC news, letters, review of books, debates and educational material to assist the development of the field of clinical chemistry and laboratory medicine worldwide. The Journal will publish general news articles, IFCC publicity/news, educational material and have a letters section. The Editor welcomes suggestion of topics for review papers, and encourages submission of suitable original articles.

The Electronic Journal of IFCC (eJIFCC) has been officially indexed by MEDLINE/PUBMED. All issues from 2009 onward are available online and are indexed, searchable, downloadable, and citable from PubMed. Older issues will be available online in the near future.

Information for Authors – Manuscript preparation: Microsoft Word is preferred, with the use of 12-point font, 2cm margins and double spacing. Title page should list title, authors (first name, last name), each author’s affiliation during the study, including e-mail adresses, corresponding author’s contact information, key words. Manuscript should be provided with structured Abstracts not longer than 250 words. Tables should be created in a common word-processing format, and included within the text of the manuscript. The figures must be submitted as independent files. Maximum number of references for a review article is 75; for original papers is 40. References sequentially follow the main text. Manuscripts should provide Author’s Disclosures. All studies involving human subjects must indicate that they are in compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki ethical principles for medical research involving human subjects.
